Seared Ahi Tuna Salad


12 ounces ahi tuna

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

1 tablespoon black sesame seeds

1/4 teaspoon red pepper chili flakes

1 tablespoon canola oil

1 cup fresh baby arugula

1 endive - roughly sliced

honey soy vinaigrette



  1. Season tuna with salt.
  2. Into a small bowl mix: sesame seeds and chili pepper flakes. Press mixture onto the sides of the tuna.
  3. Place a small non-stick skillet over medium-high heat with 1 tablespoon of canola oil. When hot add tuna and sear on each side, approximately 1-2 minutes depending on thickness of tuna (if you prefer your tuna more done cook it to desired doneness). Slice.
  4. Into bowl add arugula and endive. Toss with vinaigrette. Top with sliced tuna.
